Synthesis Toolkit: STK is a set of audio signal processing C++ classes and instruments for
music synthesis. You can use these classes to create programs which make cool
sounds using a variety of synthesis techniques. Last modification on November 15 2000.
Gsyn: gsyn is internally designed to be an extensible, modular synthesizer,
but the interface and current codebase present a simple Roland TB-303 emulator
which is programmed using fasttracker-style note entry. It also features delay
reverb and distortion, so the sound is comparable to that of Propellerhead's
ReBirth RB-338. Last modification on May 13 1999.
Midiplay: Midiplay is a collection of software that synthesises digital audio data
from midi files and plays them using either NAS or Voxware and it can even dump
them to disk. It's designed to be very efficient and works great on even the
slowest machines. It can also play regular audio files from AIFF, WAV, VOC, or
IFF files. Last modification on August 7 1998.
ARTS (analog realtime synthesizer): aRts simulates a complete "modular analog synthesizer" on your - digital
- computer. Create sounds & music using small modules like oscillators for
creating waveforms, various filters, modules for playing data on your speakers,
mixers, faders,... You can build your complete setup with the GUI of the
system, using the modules - generators, effects and output - connected to each
other. Last modification on August 6 2000.
TiMidity++: Experimental MIDI to WAVE converter Last modification on November 2 2000.
terminatorX: Realtime Audio Synthesizer (DJ Scratching) Last modification on December 30 2000.
ALSA driver: An alternative implementation of Kernel sound support Last modification on December 8 2000.
aRts: Analog realtime synthesizer Last modification on October 24 2000.
gsynth: gtk+ modular synthesizer/buzz clone Last modification on October 4 2000.
